Strategic Communications Internship - Westborough, MA
Our strategic communications internship provides hands-on learning opportunities for a talented, hard-working undergraduate or graduate student interested in strategic communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility. We provide our interns with meaningful agency experience, help them build skills, and prepare them for an entry-level position in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns hired for the Westborough office will provide direct support to our team and work on projects for clients in insurance, non-profit, and other industries. Responsibilities include:
Conducting research on client- and industry-specific issues and trends.
Build and maintain databases, including contact lists to be used for media pitching and stakeholder engagement
Assist with media relations by identifying opportunities, monitoring news outlets and collecting clips.
Draft client-specific website content and social media posts.
Communicate and interact with staff, clients and stakeholders via phone, email, and at meetings.
Participate in brainstorming sessions for communications plans and corporate social responsibility campaigns
Perform miscellaneous account support duties such as activity tracking, maintaining account files, and assisting with mailings and data-entry.
Demonstrated interested in communications.
Excellent writing, research and communication skills
Creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Computer literate and able to learn software programs quickly.
Familiarity and experience with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Vocus/Cision a plus, but not required
Compensation: Interns will be paid a bi-weekly stipend commensurate with the amount of time worked
