MICHAEL PETERSON - STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT REPRESENTATIVE
Michael Peterson has over 30 years of electric utility experience, working for National Grid, the New England Electric System and Mass Electric. His areas of expertise include public relations, energy efficiency program implementation and community and stakeholder relations. As an account manager at Mass Electric, Michael was the liaison with municipal and state government on transmission line, substation and electric distribution siting; and transmission right-of-way maintenance projects. During his three decades of experience in the utility industry, Michael held a variety of positions, including manager/account executive; district manager, Conservation and Load Management; senior consumer services representative; and analyst, Load Management and Conservation Department.
At Conover + Gould, Michael is a stakeholder field representative on National Grid's New England East West Solution (NEEWS) Project, a large 345 kV transmission line construction project. He is responsible for liaising with municipal officials, as well as neighbors along the project route to ensure that they are fully informed about the activities in the project area throughout all phases of the project and that any questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and sensitive manner.
Michael served 14 years on the school committee for the 13-town Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School (BVT), as well as on numerous other local town and civic organizations. In addition to serving as chair of the BVT for six years, he has held leadership positions with several local chambers of commerce. He holds a B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Anna Maria College.
